The ship may have enough room for up to 40 helicopters and the lead vessel might be commissioned between 2025 and 2030 becoming a key player for China power projection overseas. These ships may serve as small aircraft carriers with a limited capacity against fixed-wing amphibious ship-based aircraft such as the Harrier and F-35B jets.
